Body / Eczema (Atopic Dermatitis)

The majority of cases occur in infants or children, but sometimes this difficult and itchy disease can persist into adulthood. Tends to occur in those with allergies or asthma and is genetically linked. Intense itching that leads to heavy scratching is the hallmark of this disease, which can be very difficult for parents of those young infants to handle. Many topical treatments are available, along with the measures we use to treat dry skin. For older children and adults who suffer from this, there are oral medicines and light-treatments that provide benefit.
